The Home Package

The home package will include the following:

1. The architectural plans

Our plans mend three main objectives together.

The first is to use the character and proportions evident in old bungalows. We have studied hundreds of old bungalows to find the details and proportions which give these homes their charm.

Second, the floor plans are designed to fit today’s lifestyles. Besides asking our real estate professionals and our designers their input, we most importantly ask you, the customer, what’s important to you and what we need to do to tailor it just right for you.

Thirdly, we discuss the layout with the draftsman, engineer, and field foreman, to find any issues that might surface and cause waste and/or inefficiency. Any changes are adjusted to satisfy all involved.

2. The material for the entire shell of the home already cut and partially fabricated.

Rather than sending a pile of uncut lumber to the job for the carpenter to figure out, we send cut materials to the job so that they can be assembled immediately. No time is wasted by the carpenter to try to figure out what lumber is for what part. We send walls already built and sheathed. That saves the carpenter from wasting time figuring out where the windows go. Weather plays the biggest role. By doing it this way, the shell is built quickly, in order to minimize the amount of water it takes on. This system should not be confused with a modular home.

3. The design and material for the inside, including millwork, cabinets, plumbing and light       fixtures.

The interior design package is what really finishes the homes. We offer a variety of packages in order to finish the home tastefully. We have already spent time designing packages in which all the selections coordinate with each other for a consistent look. This too adds to the efficiency of the home being built, because tradesmen will not be waiting on answers. It’s smart and easy.

The intention of this package is to eliminate all the details that could be lost by attaining just the plans alone.
